I had every intention of posting in December. Drafts were started, ideas were forming, and words were waiting to be written. And then I realized I was falling into the very trap I planned to write about. The pressure to finish strong, even when what I really needed was to finish well. For me, finishing well meant pausing. It meant resting. It meant being fully present for the close of the year rather than performing presence through a blog post.

So I did not post in December.
And I did not post in January either.

Instead, I chose to pause. And honestly, it was one of the most grounding decisions I have made in a long time.

In my coaching training, we spend significant time on a skill called active listening, specifically what is often referred to as Level 2 listening. It is the kind of listening where you are fully present with the person in front of you, not mentally preparing your response or thinking about what is next on your calendar. I teach this skill. I coach others on it. And still, during high pressure seasons, I catch myself slipping into distracted presence. That is why I close Teams during one on one meetings. It is a small boundary, but it matters. If notifications are popping up or my task list is visible, I am not fully there. I may look engaged, but my attention is divided.

December and January reminded me that sometimes we need to close more than just applications on our screens. Sometimes we need to close the expectation that we must always be producing, posting, or proving something in order to be valuable.

What the Pause Taught Me

When I gave myself permission to step back from writing, something unexpected happened. Instead of feeling behind, I felt grounded. Instead of feeling guilty, I felt clear. I rested without feeling like I had to earn that rest through productivity. What surprised me most was this. The pause did not disconnect me from my purpose. It deepened it. By allowing myself space, my reflections became clearer and more honest. I was reminded that sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is trust that our work will still be there when we are ready, and that our commitment is not measured by constant output.

That pause extended into January, intentionally. Instead of rushing into the new year with plans and pressure, I attended the Elevate and Empower Retreat, a guided experience created for clarity, alignment, and intentional momentum. What I needed most was not another strategy. It was space.

Space to slow down enough to see what had been taking shape beneath the surface. Space to listen for how I wanted to show up, how I wanted to share my work, and how to protect my energy while doing it. And in that quiet, I realized something simple but powerful. I do not need to become someone new to move forward. I need to lead from who I already am, with consistency and intention. During the retreat, the focus was not urgency or reinvention. It was integration. I spent time bringing together parts of myself that I had unconsciously kept separate, my professional leadership and my entrepreneurial work. What became clear is that the next season of growth is not about pushing harder. It is about structure, focus and visible action that honors both my values and my capacity.

Ironically, this experience echoed something I created last year, a personal retreat guide meant to help others pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves without needing perfect conditions. Sitting in a retreat space centered on my own business reminded me that the practices we offer others are often the very ones we are invited to return to ourselves.

I left January not with dramatic answers, but with clarity, alignment, and a renewed commitment to lead and share my work in ways that honor my energy, my values, and the season I am in.

Looking Back at 2025

As the pause created space, I found myself reflecting on the year that had passed. Not through a list of accomplishments or goals met, but through a deeper awareness of who I am becoming. Every year has its own rhythm. Some years are about building. Others are about releasing. Some are defined by visible milestones. Others by quieter internal shifts.

For me, 2025 was a year of finding my voice. Not the voice I use when facilitating or coaching, but my voice as a speaker and leader representing my own brand, and as someone willing to be seen. At the beginning of the year, I would not have used the word speaker to describe myself. Even though I facilitated. Even though I trained. Even though I stood in front of rooms leading conversations. I had not fully claimed it.

Today, I can say it clearly. I am a speaker.

That shift did not happen all at once. It happened through consistent, imperfect action. Month after month of showing up, speaking, and using my voice even when it felt uncomfortable. One way I stretched myself was volunteering to go first. On calls. In conversations. In spaces where it would have been easier to stay quiet. Going first did not always feel brave. Sometimes it felt exposed. But with each moment of practice, my confidence followed.

Courage came first. Confidence followed through repetition.

What deepened in 2025 is carrying forward into this year as I step into new speaking opportunities in February during MEE Month and join the Women Thrive Summit in March.

Leadership Growth and Responsibility

2025 also brought new leadership challenges in my role at LISC. I fully stepped into my position where I manage people leaders. I do not directly own the work, but I am accountable for outcomes. That responsibility carries weight. That weight is real, and some days it’s nerve-wracking. Some days, I wondered if I was guiding my team well enough. Other days, I surprised myself with the strength I didn’t know I had. Leadership has a way of showing you both your doubts and your growth at the same time.

What I learned is this: you don’t always feel ready. You second-guess. You compare. You wonder if you’re really walking in your purpose. But clarity doesn’t come first it comes from taking action.

This became especially clear in September when I participated in the Financial Opportunity Center® (FOC) 20th Anniversary National Convening here in Chicago. As I shared in Honoring Legacy, Living Purpose, that experience was both humbling and affirming. Leading a coaching practicum for twenty four participants, serving on the opening plenary panel, and receiving recognition from partners I deeply respect, including an unexpected standing ovation and a welded plaque from Jane Addams Resource Corporation, reminded me that the seeds we plant quietly year after year do take root.

That moment of being seen and acknowledged by my community taught me something important: we often can’t see our own impact until others reflect it back to us. And sometimes our greatest growth happens not in the spotlight moments, but in the decades of consistent showing up that come before them.

The Entrepreneurial Middle

If I am honest, 2025 was also challenging in my entrepreneurial journey. I have been building Mission ENSPIRE for four years. In 2025 progress felt slower than expected. There were moments when the question shifted from can I do this to can I keep doing this.

This is the part we do not talk about enough. The space between starting and thriving. Between momentum and mastery. Early courage is fueled by excitement. Sustained courage is fueled by discipline and trust. 2025 reminded me that courage is not only about starting. It is about staying. About continuing to show up even when results lag behind effort.

Releasing Recommitting and Redesigning

Now in February of 2026, I am intentional about what I carry forward. I am releasing the pressure to have everything figured out by now. Entrepreneurship does not follow a neat timeline. It follows a process. I am recommitting to using my voice consistently and to this space, Flourishing Fiercely, even when engagement feels quiet. Because I know these words reach the people who need them. I am redesigning my definition of success. In 2026, success includes consistency, courage, relationships and unseen impact. It includes honoring both my leadership role and my entrepreneurial calling as complementary expressions of the same purpose.

My 2026 Intention Sustainable Visibility

My intention for 2026 is sustainable visibility. Not visibility driven by urgency. Not visibility that leads to exhaustion.

Sustainable visibility means showing up in ways that align with my values and capacity. It means trusting that slow, intentional presence is enough. It means believing that I can be seen and whole at the same time. Publishing this post in February feels aligned with that intention. This is not about catching up. It is about beginning again with clarity.

So, here is my question for you. What are you releasing, recommitting to, or redesigning as you move through this year?

Here is to beginning again.
Here is to sustainable visibility.
And here is to continuing to flourish fiercely together.

As we move deeper into October, the days grow shorter, the air turns cooler and the year’s end begins to come into view. If you’re feeling a mix of accomplishment […]

As we move deeper into October, the days grow shorter, the air turns cooler and the year’s end begins to come into view. If you’re feeling a mix of accomplishment and unfinished business, you’re not alone. This is the season when many of us pause to wonder: Is it too late to make progress? Should I just coast until January? Let me reassure you: it is never too late to realign, recommit, and finish strong. October is such a beautiful time for reflection and renewal. The energy of summer has faded, but the pace of the holidays hasn’t yet arrived. It’s a natural pivot point; a moment to ask what you want these final months of the year to feel like. If you’ve been following along with my blog, we’ve spent the past few months reflecting on growth, gratitude, and self-care and most recently, we took time to Harvest our Wins. Now, as the leaves fall and the air shifts, it’s time to move from reflection to intention.

Recommitment, Not Perfection

Recommitment isn’t about pushing harder or catching up. It’s about doing what matters. It’s not about hustle, guilt or chasing perfection. It’s about realigning with your purpose and giving yourself permission to begin again. Maybe there’s something you started earlier in the year that deserves one more try. Or maybe your priorities have changed, and it’s time to release a goal that no longer fits. I’ve been there more than once, realizing that the thing I was chasing no longer aligned with who I was becoming. Letting go wasn’t failure; it was an act of grace that opened space for what was next.

If you’ve felt behind, remember what we explored in From Perfectionist to Progress-Seeker: Embracing the Imperfect Journey. Growth is not linear. Every step forward is a step toward the life you’re building. Recommitment means meeting yourself where you are, not where you think you should be. It’s choosing progress over pressure, alignment over achievement.

Choosing What Still Matters

Take a moment and ask yourself: What do I most want to experience before this year ends? What would make me proud when I look back on 2025? You don’t need a dozen goals. You only need one or two that truly resonate; the ones that light a quiet spark inside you. The rest can be released with gratitude.

A few years ago, I learned the power of releasing what no longer serves me. I had a business goal that looked great on paper but felt completely off in practice. Once I let it go, I found room for something more authentic and energizing. Sometimes the real breakthrough comes not from doing more, but from letting go and making space to breathe.

Small Steps, Big Shifts

If that spark feels dim, start small. Micro-goals and mini-habits can help you regain momentum when energy feels low. I’ve written before in The Power of Tiny Steps about how ten minutes of focus a day can create lasting change. Whether it’s a quick journaling ritual, a weekly walk or reaching out to a friend, small steps add up. One of my favorite practices is a “three wins a day” reflection which is taking a few minutes each evening to acknowledge progress, no matter how small. Those moments remind me that growth is still happening, even in seasons of transition.

Finding Focus and Support

If you’re feeling distracted or uncertain, you’re not alone. This time of year can stir both reflection and fatigue. That’s why having a structure, even a simple one, helps. For me, recommitment often begins with a reset moment, where I pause, breathe, and ask what I want to feel by year’s end.

That’s what inspired the Reset & Reignite Masterclass. It came out of one of those very moments when I felt stretched thin and needed to recenter before moving forward. In that workshop, I guided participants through exercises to help them identify what’s fueling and what’s draining their energy, realign their goals with their capacity, and use gratitude as a growth tool. You can still experience the impact of that session through the Reset & Reignite Momentum Pack, which includes limited replay access, a 30-day printable planning journal and a coaching-style email series to help you stay focused, inspired, and aligned with what matters most.

A Ritual for Recommitment

If you’re ready to refocus, here’s something simple and grounding. Write a letter to your future self dated December 31, 2025. Describe how you want to feel as this year ends, what you’ll be proud of, what you’ve learned and what you’ve let go of. Then tuck it away and set a reminder to read it at on New Year’s Eve. It’s a gentle, personal way to stay connected to your intentions. Or, if you’re a visual person, create a “last quarter” vision board. Gather images, words, and phrases that capture how you want to close the year. Let it be a reflection of who you’re becoming.

Flowing Into What’s Next

As we move toward the year’s end, remember that every step forward is an act of courage and self-leadership. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You only need to keep showing up for yourself. Give yourself permission to realign, recommit and finish this year with clarity, confidence and grace. Next month, we’ll turn toward gratitude and reflection as we prepare to close out the year together. Until then, keep tending to your growth. You are worthy of a strong and intentional finish.

As you close out this year, what intention are you recommitting to and how will you honor that commitment to yourself in the weeks ahead? I’d love to hear your reflections in the comments below.

As the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to change, October feels like a natural invitation to pause and reflect. There is something about this season, with its golden light, the scent of the earth and leaves and gentle winding down, that calls us to take stock of what we have planted, tended, and grown. The year’s final quarter offers us space to breathe, to notice and to celebrate what has taken root in our lives; even if it looks different than what we envisioned back in January.

Perhaps this year has been full of bold steps forward or maybe it has been a quieter season of inner work and personal transformation. Maybe you began with clear goals, only to realize that your journey had its own rhythm. Wherever you find yourself, this is your moment to harvest the lessons, growth and grace that have been growing all along.

Why Reflection Matters

Reflection is one of the most powerful tools we have for personal growth. It allows us to make meaning of our experiences, to see patterns in how we show up and to recognize the resilience we often overlook in the rush of daily life. October offers a gentle reminder to slow down before the year’s final stretch. It invites us to pause long enough to see the ways we have stretched, evolved, and stayed the course. This kind of intentional reflection isn’t about perfection or achievement; it is about awareness and appreciation. It reminds us that growth happens in the moments between our big wins, in the choices we make quietly and in the lessons we learn when plans shift.

Throughout this year on my blog I have explored how courage fuels confidence, how hope sustains us through transition and how growth often begins with belief in ourselves. I have talked about course correction, about the power of letting go and about reigniting purpose when burnout tries to dull our spark. Now, in this season of gathering and gratitude, it feels right to pause and honor the ways those lessons have taken root.

Guided Reflection: Harvesting Your Wins

I invite you to take a few moments for yourself this week. Find a quiet space, pour your favorite fall beverage, and bring your journal or simply sit with your thoughts. Consider these prompts as a way to reflect on how this year has unfolded for you:

• What am I most proud of accomplishing since January?
• What unexpected lessons or strengths have emerged?
• Where did I pivot, and what did I learn from it?
• What small wins deserve celebration?
• What am I ready to release as the year winds down?

As you move through these questions, notice what feelings arise. Notice where gratitude appears naturally and where resistance lingers. Reflection is not about judging what has or has not been done. It is about acknowledging what is, the courage it took to keep going, the effort behind each decision and the grace in simply continuing to show up.

If you find yourself craving a deeper space to reflect, my Personal Retreat Guide is a resource created exactly for that. It offers gentle structure, journaling prompts, and practices to help you slow down, reconnect, and listen inward. Whether you take an hour or a weekend, this intentional pause can help you see your growth with fresh perspective.

The Value of Imperfect Progress

It is easy to measure progress by what we can check off a list, but some of the most meaningful growth happens quietly. Maybe you learned to set a boundary that once felt impossible. Maybe you asked for help when you normally would have carried everything alone. Maybe you simply learned to rest without guilt. Those are wins worth celebrating. Progress is not always a straight path. Sometimes we take a step sideways or even back, only to find it gives us a better view of where we are meant to go next. The truth is, imperfect progress is still progress. Every pivot, pause and redirection teaches us something valuable about who we are becoming.

When I reflect on my own year, I think about the moments that stretched me most; times when I had to trust that slowing down would not mean losing momentum. There were projects that unfolded differently than I expected, but in that space, I found clarity and creativity. The lessons were not always easy, but they were necessary. They reminded me that growth often shows up disguised as change.

If this year has felt more like steady planting than a full harvest, trust that the seeds you have sown are doing their quiet work beneath the surface. You may not see all the results yet, but that does not mean progress is not happening.

Gratitude as a Growth Practice

Reflection naturally leads us to gratitude not the surface kind that skips over struggle, but the deep gratitude that comes from seeing meaning in our experiences. Gratitude grounds us. It reminds us that growth is not measured only by outcomes, but by awareness, perspective and grace. Take a moment to name three things you are grateful for this year. Maybe it is a renewed sense of courage, a relationship that grew stronger or simply the resilience to keep showing up through uncertain seasons. Let that gratitude soften you. Let it shift how you see your progress. Gratitude also helps us close chapters with peace. As the year winds down, allow gratitude to help you release what no longer serves you. The act of letting go; whether it is unrealistic expectations, old fears or the need to have everything figured out; makes space for what is next to take root.

Creating Space to Reflect and Reconnect

If you are feeling the pull to go deeper, I encourage you to create a personal retreat moment for yourself. This does not require travel or elaborate planning. It can be as simple as setting aside a morning or afternoon to pause and breathe. The Personal Retreat Guide offers a framework for doing just that. It includes prompts, reflection exercises and gentle encouragement to help you quiet the noise and listen inward. Whether you spend two hours or two days, the time you give yourself to reflect is never wasted. It is how clarity, confidence and renewed purpose take form.

A Season of Acknowledgment

October reminds us that reflection and renewal can happen side by side. It’s a time to celebrate how far you’ve come while staying open to what’s next. It is also about integration, gathering the wisdom from all that has unfolded and preparing to carry it forward. You do not need to have it all figured out. Growth rarely happens in a straight line and success is not measured by how perfectly everything unfolds. What matters is that you keep choosing to grow, to reflect, and to remain open to possibility. This is your season to honor your journey. To acknowledge how far you have come, even if you are still becoming. To see the courage, confidence, and hope that have carried you to this moment.

As you move through this month, I invite you to reflect: What lessons or wins are you harvesting from this year so far? What wisdom do you want to carry with you into the next season of your growth?

Take time to celebrate those answers. You deserve to honor the progress that brought you here.

Two weeks ago, I wrote about giving yourself permission to realign mid-year without pressure or guilt. Since then, I’ve been reflecting on what it really takes to make those mid-year adjustments. Here’s what I keep coming back to: It takes real courage to course-correct. Not just to acknowledge where you are, but to trust yourself enough to change direction when needed. There’s something powerful that happens when we stop pretending everything is perfectly on track and start embracing the truth of our actual journey. It’s messy. It’s human. And it’s exactly where transformation begins.

The Courage to See Clearly

In my work with leaders and through my own journey, I’ve learned that the most significant growth happens not when we have it all figured out, but when we have the courage to get honest about where we really are. Maybe you’ve discovered you’re further along than you thought in some areas. Maybe you’ve realized you’ve been chasing goals that no longer align with who you’re becoming. Maybe you’re somewhere in between—celebrating wins while acknowledging the areas that need attention.

Here’s what I’ve learned: It takes courage to honestly assess your year without the January optimism or December desperation. It requires you to sit in the space between where you thought you’d be and where you actually are—and find compassion for the person who’s been doing their best with what they had. But here’s the gift in that courage: When you can see clearly, you can choose consciously.

Self-Confidence as Your Course-Correction Compass

I recently wrote about self-confidence for Women Thrive Magazine, and preparing for July Masterclass deepened that perspective. I’ve realized something powerful: Self-confidence isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about trusting yourself to find them. The people who are ready to make changes aren’t the ones who have everything figured out. They’re the ones who trust themselves enough to pivot without shame. They understand that confidence comes not from perfection, but from believing in their ability to adapt and grow. When we lack confidence in our ability to course-correct, we stay stuck in goals and strategies that no longer serve us. We keep pushing forward with January’s plan even when July’s wisdom is whispering that it’s time for something different. But when we trust ourselves—our growth, our intuition, our capacity for change—we can ask the questions that matter:

“What would I do if I trusted my instincts completely?”

“Where am I giving my power away to perfectionism?”

“What would change if I celebrated progress over perfection?”

From Insight to Action: The Power of 90 Days

Instead of trying to salvage the entire year or overwhelming yourself with six months of catch-up, what if you focused on the next 90 days? There’s something magical about a 90-day window. It’s long enough to create meaningful change but short enough to maintain focus and momentum. This approach allows for what I call values-based pivoting. The most sustainable course corrections aren’t about forcing yourself back onto an old path. They’re about aligning with your evolving values and priorities.

Consider this: You can celebrate what’s working while adjusting what isn’t. You don’t have to throw everything out to make changes. Maybe you’ve been incredible at building your business but have neglected your health. Instead of feeling like a failure, you can celebrate your professional growth while intentionally designing your next 90 days to include more movement and self-care.

This is what I call the both/and mindset—honoring your progress while making space for growth.

Your Mid-Year Permission Slip

If you’re reading this and feeling ready to reassess, consider this your official mid-year permission slip:

Permission to change direction. The goals you set in January were based on who you were then. You’re allowed to honor who you’re becoming now.

Permission to be proud of unexpected progress. Maybe you didn’t lose the weight, but you learned to speak up for yourself. Maybe you didn’t write the book, but you deepened your relationships. Growth comes in many forms.

Permission to want different things than you did in January. Your desires are allowed to evolve as you do. What felt important six months ago might not align with your current priorities, and that’s not failure—it’s growth.

Permission to trust your growth journey, even when it doesn’t look linear. The most meaningful transformations rarely follow a straight line. Your detours might be exactly where your biggest breakthroughs are waiting.

Confidence in Action

Here’s what I know for certain: The person who started 2025 with you is not the same person reading this post today. You’ve grown, learned, and evolved in ways both big and small. That growth deserves to be honored, and it deserves to guide your next steps. Course-correcting is not failing. It is confidence in action. It is trusting yourself enough to adapt, grow, and choose again.

I recently led the Masterclass Reset & Reignite: Your Mid-Year Power Hour Plus, and I was so inspired by the honest reflections and powerful intentions that came out of that session. It was a reminder that we’re never alone in our desire to realign, and that meaningful change begins with a single courageous step.

If today’s message resonates with you and you’re craving more support, there’s still time to access the full experience through the VIP Momentum Pack. It includes the replay of the live session, a printable monthly planning journal, and a five-part coaching-style email series to help you reflect, reignite, and stay grounded in what matters most. This bundle is available through August 12. Get the VIP Momentum Pack for $49 and give yourself the time, space, and tools to reset with clarity and purpose.

The rest of 2025 is waiting for the person you are becoming. Not the version of you from January, but the version who has grown and learned in the months since. That person is wiser, stronger, and more aligned than you may realize.

What will you choose to honor about your growth?
And what will you choose to adjust to support who you are still becoming?

What’s one area where you’re ready to trust your instincts and course-correct? Share in the comments. Your courage might be exactly what someone else needs to see.

The year is more than halfway over. Can you believe it? Somehow, July always seems to arrive faster than expected. One minute we’re writing our goals with fresh energy in January, and the next, we’re blinking at summer wondering: Where did the time go? If you’re feeling like the year is flying by and you haven’t quite made the progress you hoped for—you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve been pushing through on autopilot. Maybe you set goals back in January that no longer align with who you are today. Or maybe you never set any at all because life had other plans.

Whatever your path has looked like, this is your invitation to pause, reflect, and realign. Not with pressure. Not with guilt. But with purpose.

Why a Mid-Year Reset Matters

We often think the only times to “start fresh” are January 1st or maybe when September rolls around. But the truth is—you can reset anytime. July is actually a powerful moment to do so. We’re far enough into the year to have collected lessons, clarity, and data about what’s working and what’s not. And there’s still enough time left to make real, aligned progress. This isn’t about grinding harder. It’s about shifting gears intentionally.

A mid-year reset gives you permission to:

Acknowledge your wins (no matter how small)

Release goals that no longer resonate

Reconnect with your values and vision

Build momentum without burnout

Where Are You Now?

Take a moment. Breathe. And ask yourself:

What has gone well in the first half of the year?

Where did I show resilience?

What felt aligned? What didn’t?

What areas of my life are asking for more attention?

You don’t need all the answers right now. But tuning in is the first step.

Common Mid-Year Mindset Traps (and How to Avoid Them)

We tend to spiral into extremes during check-in moments:

Trap 1: “I’ve wasted too much time.” You haven’t. You’ve learned. You’ve adapted. You’ve survived—and maybe even thrived in ways that aren’t measured by a checklist.

Trap 2: “I need to do it all now.” Nope. Resetting doesn’t mean cramming 12 months of progress into 6. It means choosing the next right steps for you—not chasing someone else’s pace.

Trap 3: “It’s too late to set goals now.” Not true. In fact, now might be the best time. Because now you’re moving with more insight, lived experience, and wisdom than you had in January.

A New Kind of Goal Setting

Traditional goal-setting often starts with external markers: income targets, weight goals, business metrics, etc. But what if we started with your values instead? Ask yourself:

What matters most to me right now?

How do I want to feel this fall?

What kind of energy do I want to carry into 2026?

From there, you can reverse-engineer your goals in a way that supports your wellbeing—not just your productivity. For example:

If you want to feel more peace, maybe the goal is to implement better boundaries.

If you want to feel more energized, maybe the goal is to prioritize rest and movement.

If you want to feel more fulfilled, maybe it’s time to recommit to a long-held dream.

The Power of Mid-Year Reflection

Here’s something powerful: July is actually the perfect time for honest assessment—not panic, but clarity. You’re far enough into the year to have real data about what’s working and what isn’t, but you still have time to make meaningful adjustments. Mid-year reflection takes courage because it asks us to look at where we really are, not where we think we “should” be. It requires us to celebrate unexpected progress while also acknowledging areas where we’ve drifted from our intentions. The beautiful thing about reflection without judgment is that it leads to sustainable momentum. When we can honestly assess our journey without shame or criticism, we free ourselves to make intentional choices about our next steps.

Ready to Reset? Join Me for a Live Deep Dive

If you’re reading this and thinking, “I need more than just tips—I need dedicated time to truly reset and realign”—you’re not alone. That’s exactly why I’m hosting: Reset & Reignite: Your Mid-Year Power Hour Plus Tuesday, July 29 at 6:30 PM CST

This isn’t about guilt or pressure. It’s 75 minutes of reflection, realignment, and momentum-building designed specifically for where you are right now—whether you’re crushing it, got a little off course, or never set goals in the first place. This session will meet you where you are and help you create a clear path forward. You’ll walk away with clarity, a customized action plan, and practical tools to support your second-half momentum.

[Save your spot HERE; it’s completely free.]

Your Mid-Year Moment

You don’t have to start over. You don’t have to abandon your past. You don’t have to do this alone.

You just have to take a moment to pause, breathe, and choose again.

This is your mid-year moment. Let it be one of intention, not pressure. One of power, not perfection.

You’re not behind. You’re right on time.

What’s one area of your life that’s asking for more attention as we move into the second half of 2025? I’d love to hear in the comments—and I hope to see you on July 29th as we reset and reignite together.

It’s June, and the energy is shifting.

We’re halfway through the year, and maybe that hits you in one of two ways: a gentle nudge or a sharp jolt. You might feel pride for what’s taken root or frustration that things haven’t quite bloomed the way you imagined. Either way, this moment is not the end of the road. It’s a powerful invitation. It’s halftime. It’s your chance to pause, breathe, reflect, and recalibrate.

And I want to be clear: recalibration isn’t about regret. It’s about realignment. It’s how we make sure we’re not living on autopilot. That we’re not chasing someone else’s version of success. That we’re not moving just for the sake of movement.

When You Don’t Feel on Track

It’s easy in a season like this to default to self-judgment. Maybe you had big plans for the year. Maybe you mapped out goals back in January with clear action steps and intentions. But somewhere between the busyness of life, unexpected challenges, and the mental fatigue that builds over time, things slipped. That doesn’t mean you failed. It means you’re human. And it means now is the perfect time to pause and check in—with grace, not guilt.

I’ve watched this pattern play out in my own life and in the lives of the women I coach. We start the year with such clarity and intention, but life has a way of pulling us in directions we didn’t anticipate. A family crisis emerges. Work demands increase unexpectedly. Our energy shifts in ways we couldn’t predict in January’s optimism.

Here’s what I’ve learned: the gap between where you thought you’d be and where you are isn’t a measurement of your worth—it’s data. It’s information about what you need, what’s working, and what needs to shift.

One of the best practices I’ve built into my own rhythm is the midyear reset. Not because I love structure for structure’s sake, but because I know how quickly I can lose touch with what actually matters to me. A midyear reset gives me a checkpoint. A place to ask better questions. A chance to not just “keep going,” but to move with clarity.

Let me be honest—some years, by June I’ve already revised my goals more than once. I’ve learned to see that not as inconsistency, but as growth. As information. As discernment. As a decision to stay in alignment rather than push toward something I no longer want or is no longer serving me.

The Cost of Not Reflecting

What happens when we skip the pause? When we push through without checking in? We become strangers to ourselves. We find ourselves six months deeper into patterns that don’t serve us. We wake up in December wondering how we got so far off course, feeling like we’ve been living someone else’s life.

I see this especially with high-achieving women who are so used to pushing through, to making things work, that they forget to ask whether the things they’re making work are still worth their energy. The promotion they were chasing feels empty now. The routine that once energized them has become a cage. The goals that felt inspiring in January now feel like obligations.

This is why reflection isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. It’s how we stay connected to our own evolution.

Reflection Is a Leadership Skill

Whether you consider yourself a leader or not, reflection is one of the most powerful tools you have. It sharpens your awareness. It helps you name your patterns. And it offers space to honor both your wins and your wounds.

One thing I teach in coaching (and remind myself of constantly!) is that you can’t shift what you’re unwilling to see. Without reflection, we’re just reacting. But with it, we’re responding—with intention.

Here’s what my own check-in process looks like this time of year:

I revisit my original goals and ask, Do these still matter?

I look for unexpected wins; progress I didn’t plan but am grateful for.

I give myself permission to release goals that no longer feel aligned.

I name the hard stuff, too—the things I’m still struggling with, the places I need support.

I celebrate the woman I’ve become in the process, not just what I’ve accomplished.

It doesn’t have to take long. But it does require honesty.

The beauty of reflection is that it creates space for both celebration and course correction. It allows you to acknowledge how far you’ve come while also being honest about where you want to go next.

3 Midyear Reflection Prompts

If you don’t know where to start, let these three questions guide your process:

What’s working that I want to continue? Identify what’s bringing you energy, clarity, connection, or peace. What habits or practices are helping you move forward? This isn’t just about productivity; it’s about what’s nourishing your soul. Maybe it’s the morning walks you started in March. Maybe it’s the boundary you set with a difficult relationship. Maybe it’s the creative project you’ve been slowly nurturing.

What’s not working that I need to release or revise? Be honest: What’s draining you? What’s distracting you? What’s no longer aligned with your season or values? Sometimes what’s not working isn’t necessarily “bad”; it’s just not right for who you’re becoming. This requires courage because it might mean letting go of goals that once excited you or commitments that no longer fit.

What am I craving more of and how can I make space for it? This one’s powerful. It points you toward your next right step. Not just what you should do, but what your soul is quietly asking for. Maybe you’re craving more creativity, more rest, more adventure, more depth in your relationships. Listen to that craving; it’s wisdom speaking.

These prompts aren’t meant to overwhelm. They’re meant to open something up. Sometimes, I’ll journal my responses. Other times, I talk them out with a friend or coach. What matters most is making space for the questions and listening for your answers.

Recommitting Doesn’t Mean Starting Over

Once you’ve reflected, the next step is to recommit with intention. This isn’t about pushing yourself to “do more” or hustling to catch up. It’s about choosing what matters most and showing up for it.

Remember that conversation we had in the last blog post about reclaiming the season and finding your confidence in the summer shift? This midyear reflection is the natural next step in that journey. If you felt the pull to step into summer with more intention, this is how we make that sustainable. And if you missed that post, go back and read it HERE; it’s the perfect companion to today’s reflection.

We’ve also talked earlier last year about progress over perfection in March and turning vision into action in April this year. Now it’s time to build on all of that foundation.

You might recommit by:

Resetting your boundaries so your time and energy reflect your values.

Choosing one goal to gently reengage with.

Creating a daily or weekly ritual to reconnect with yourself.

Saying no to what no longer fits, even if it once did.

Adjusting your approach to honor who you’re becoming.

You don’t need to do everything. You just need to do the next thing. For me, recommitment often looks like simplification. Not adding but subtracting. Not striving but aligning. It’s noticing where I’ve drifted and gently steering myself back.

One Gentle Invitation: If you’re craving space to reflect, reset, and reignite your goals for the rest of the year–without pressure–I’d love for you to join me for something special. I’m hosting a free midyear masterclass to help you recalibrate with clarity and momentum. Click HERE to save your spot. (Just name and email—no fuss.)

Let This Be Your Turning Point

Recalibration is an act of self-leadership. It says, “I’m not giving up; I’m tuning in.”

It’s not flashy. It won’t always get applause. But it’s the quiet, powerful work that leads to deep growth.

The second half of the year doesn’t have to feel like catching up or making up for lost time. It can feel like stepping more fully into who you’re becoming. It can feel like finally moving in the direction that makes sense for your life right now.

So, here’s your permission slip: You don’t have to wait until next year to begin again. You don’t have to scrap the plan to write a new one. You just have to pause long enough to hear yourself again.

What’s one thing you’re releasing—and one thing you’re recommitting to—for the second half of the year? Share in the comments or journal it for yourself. Either way, I hope you choose to rise—on purpose.

Summer has a way of catching us off guard. One minute you’re fired up, full of plans and purpose. The next, you’re two weeks deep into summer mode wondering, “Where did my momentum go?”

The sunshine, longer days, social invitations, and looser schedules can bring a beautiful sense of freedom. But they can also create a subtle sense of drift. Suddenly, the structure that supported your growth earlier in the year feels blurry. You’re juggling joy and obligations, but your inner fire starts to dim. That’s when confidence gets shaky. So, what do you do? You reclaim the season.

This isn’t about pushing harder or forcing productivity. It’s about tuning in to the rhythm of summer, staying anchored in your purpose, and showing up with confidence—even when your routine shifts. Let’s explore how.

When Seasons Change, So Should Your Strategy

Summer is not the time to abandon your goals. It’s the time to adjust your approach. We often talk about growth as a straight line, but real growth happens in seasons. Winter is for rest. Spring is for planting. And summer? Summer is for tending. It’s a time to check in on the seeds you’ve sown and make sure they’re still getting the sunlight, nourishment, and care they need to thrive. (If you need a refresher on setting intentional goals, revisit this post on turning vision into action to realign your focus.)

Ask yourself:

What version of me is showing up right now?

What’s changed about my energy, responsibilities, or environment?

Where does my confidence feel strong, and where does it need reinforcement?

Summer doesn’t require the same pace. But it does require presence.

Confidence is Built in Small, Brave Choices

We tend to think of confidence as something big and flash; speaking on a stage, launching a new venture or taking a leap. But real confidence is often quiet.

I can’t even fully recall all the details of last summer—but I do remember this: I wasn’t fully present. I wasn’t overbooked, but I also wasn’t tuned in. I stayed in motion, assuming that meant I was making progress. But eventually, I realized something important…Confidence isn’t about doing everything. It’s about choosing the right things. It’s built in the everyday moments when you:

Say no to an invitation that drains you.

Wake up 15 minutes earlier to reconnect with your goals.

Reclaim your boundaries, even if it’s awkward.

Make that doctor’s appointment, finish that resume, or open the blank page to start writing.

These aren’t dramatic acts, but they’re bold. Every small decision to honor your purpose is a vote for your self-trust. And when you build self-trust, confidence follows. If you’ve been navigating confidence-building from a deeper place, you might also enjoy this earlier post on the courage-confidence connection, which explores how both grow in tandem. Let this be your reminder: you don’t need perfect conditions to show up. You just need to choose yourself, again and again.

Reframe Summer as a Season to Step Forward, Not Just Step Back

There’s nothing wrong with slowing down. Rest is a requirement, not a reward. But stepping back doesn’t mean disappearing. In fact, when everyone else is coasting, summer can become a powerful time to realign with your boldest goals. Here’s how to show up intentionally:

1. Choose Your Summer Word – Pick one word to define how you want to move through this season. Maybe it’s ease, visibility, grace, or focus. Mine this year? Visibility. I want to be seen, heard, and fully present in the spaces that matter most. Write your word on a sticky note, set it as your phone wallpaper, and let it guide your decisions.

2. Schedule Joy, Not Just Tasks – Confidence blooms when we feel fulfilled, not just busy. So, alongside your meetings and deadlines, block time for things like the following: solo date or creative outlet, weekly self-care ritual or time to do nothing—without guilt. This isn’t about balance. It’s about alignment.

3. Protect What Grounds You – Even when your calendar shifts, your values don’t. Keep at least one daily or weekly anchor that makes you feel steady. That might be journaling, prayer, movement, meditation, or checking in with your coach or accountability partner. These small practices remind you: You’ve got you.

Confidence Deserves Consistency, Not Perfection

One of the most damaging myths I see—especially among women in leadership or service-based roles—is that confidence should be automatic by now. That if you’re experienced, you shouldn’t struggle with doubt or momentum. But confidence isn’t a badge you earn once. It’s a practice. You can build that practice with intention—this piece on discipline and consistency lays out a simple strategy.

Some days, your confidence will roar. Other days, it will whisper. The important thing is that you stay in relationship with it.

Your Invitation to Reclaim the Season

Summer can be sacred.
It can be restful and powerful.
It can be both a pause and a launchpad.

You get to decide how this season serves you.

So I’ll ask you:
Where do you want to show up more boldly this summer?
And what’s one aligned action you can take this week to back yourself with confidence?

If you’re ready to reflect more deeply and realign with purpose, I invite you to download the Personal Retreat Guide—a free, self-paced tool designed to help you slow down, check in, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Whether you use it for a solo morning reset, a weekend of reflection, or a midyear mindset shift, it’s a practical way to nourish your confidence and recommit to yourself.

Let this be the summer you honor your energy, protect your peace, and say yes to your growth.

Because you don’t need the perfect plan.
You just need the power of your next step.

Let’s be honest: overwhelm can sneak in even when we’re doing work we love, serving causes we care about, and pursuing goals that truly matter. Whether it’s from competing priorities, unspoken expectations, or the pressure to “do it all,” overwhelm can quietly drain your energy, focus, and joy. And when it lingers, it impacts not just your productivity but your peace of mind and your self-confidence.

Throughout this year, we’ve explored how courage fuels confidence, how to navigate setbacks with resilience, and most recently, the power of self-belief in creating an empowered mindset. We’ve talked about believing in yourself, trusting your voice, and showing up with purpose. But what happens when the weight of responsibilities starts to dim that belief? When your inner critic gets louder not because you doubt your worth, but because you’re simply stretched too thin? That’s where mindfulness and intentional integration come in: not as trendy buzzwords, but as powerful tools to help us refocus, realign, and reclaim our time and energy so we can continue showing up for what matters most.

The Real Cost of Overwhelm

Overwhelm isn’t just about being “busy.” It’s the mental and emotional clutter that comes from feeling pulled in too many directions without enough space to breathe, think, or be. It’s what happens when our plates get so full that we lose sight of our priorities and start operating from reaction instead of intention. And while you may still be getting things done, inside, you might feel:

Disconnected from your purpose

Reactive instead of intentional

Guilty when you’re working and guilty when you’re resting

Like you’re always behind, no matter how much you accomplish

Here’s what I’ve learned: overwhelm doesn’t just impact our productivity. It erodes the very confidence and self-belief we’ve been working to build. When we’re constantly in survival mode, it becomes harder to trust our instincts, speak up with clarity, or take the courageous steps our goals require. If this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone. And more importantly, it doesn’t have to stay this way.

What Mindfulness Actually Means in Daily Life

I want to be clear: I’m not talking about a 30-minute meditation or escaping to a mountaintop retreat. (If that’s your thing—go for it!) But for many of us, mindfulness looks like something far more practical and accessible:

It’s being present on purpose.

It’s creating small moments in your day where you pause, reflect, and choose to respond instead of just react. It’s the practice that helps you stay connected to your values and priorities, even when life gets chaotic. Mindfulness can look like:

Taking 60 seconds to breathe deeply before a big meeting

Pausing to check in with how you’re feeling instead of pushing through

Writing down what you’re grateful for at the end of a long day

Saying a short prayer to center your thoughts before diving into your task list

Asking yourself, “What do I need right now?” and actually listening to the answer

These aren’t just “nice to haves.” They’re essential resets that help you stay grounded and make decisions from a place of clarity rather than chaos. When we’re intentionally present, we can better discern what deserves our energy and what doesn’t.

Work-Life Balance vs. Work-Life Integration

Let’s go ahead and release the myth of perfect balance. Real life doesn’t always divide neatly into equal parts—and trying to force it often adds more pressure. Instead, I prefer the idea of work-life integration: the art of aligning your values, energy, and time so that both your personal and professional life are supported. This isn’t about doing more; it’s about doing what matters with greater intention and less internal conflict.

Here’s how that starts to take shape:

1. Define What Matters Most Right Now

What season are you in? Sometimes it’s a season of building, other times it’s rest or recalibration. Every yes needs to align with the season you’re in. When you name your current priorities clearly, it becomes easier to say no with clarity and yes with confidence. Try this: Write down your top 3 priorities for this season of life. When opportunities or requests come up, ask yourself: “Does this align with where I am right now?”

2. Establish Rhythms, Not Rigid Routines

Your life doesn’t have to be hyper-scheduled to feel stable. Instead of strict routines, try daily or weekly rhythms that offer structure with flexibility.

For example:

A morning rhythm of prayer, review, and intention-setting

A Sunday night prep session to map your week

A midweek pause to assess your energy and reset

An evening practice of gratitude and reflection

These rhythms help you respond with grace when life shifts because you’ve built in space to pivot. They also create pockets of mindfulness throughout your week.

3. Practice Saying “No” with Purpose

Overwhelm often grows in the spaces where we say yes to everything, except ourselves. Remember what we talked about with self-belief? Sometimes your next level of peace will come from trusting yourself enough to say:

“Not right now.”

“That’s not aligned with my current focus.”

“Thank you, but I need to pass.”

Saying no doesn’t make you unreliable. It makes you honest, healthy, and intentional. It’s actually an act of courage that protects your capacity to show up fully for what matters most.

4. Honor Your Energy, Not Just Your Calendar

You’re not a machine. Some tasks drain you. Others fill you up. Begin noticing your energy patterns: When do you feel focused? When do you feel foggy? What activities energize you versus what depletes you? Use that awareness to plan your week—prioritizing high-energy windows for deep work and building in room for rest. Protect your energy as fiercely as your time. This isn’t selfish; it’s strategic. When you operate from a place of sustainable energy, you make better decisions, communicate more clearly, and show up with the confidence and presence others need from you.

5. Create Boundaries That Serve You and Others

Boundaries aren’t walls; they’re bridges to sustainable success. Whether it’s turning off email after a certain hour, stepping away from social media on weekends, or blocking time to eat lunch without multitasking, it all adds up. Small boundaries create space for big breakthroughs. Boundaries are where your peace gets protected and your priorities get honored.

You Deserve a Life That Supports You

Here’s what I want you to remember: Overwhelm will happen. It’s part of being human and pursuing meaningful work. But it doesn’t have to run your life or rob you of the confidence you’ve been building. With small, consistent choices grounded in mindfulness and intentional integration, you can create a rhythm that supports both your purpose and your peace. You can trust yourself to make good decisions about where to invest your time and energy. You can show up powerfully without burning out.

You are allowed to choose ease. You are allowed to pause. You are allowed to take care of yourself and still be powerful.

As we continue this journey of building confidence and courage together, remember that self-care isn’t separate from success; it’s what makes sustainable success possible.

Challenge for June

As we head into a new month, I invite you to take one small but intentional step:

What’s one boundary you need to create or reinforce? What’s one rhythm that would help you feel more grounded?

You don’t need to overhaul everything. Just begin. Because small steps toward clarity lead to big shifts in confidence, and that’s exactly what we’re building together. In our next post, we’ll explore how to maintain momentum and confidence as we transition into summer, including strategies for staying connected to your purpose when routines naturally shift and schedules become more flexible.

What resonated most with you in this post? I’d love to hear how you’re creating more space for peace and intention in your life. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
